Explanation of EACH Registration Group that SANAME Pty Ltd has been approved as an Registered NDIS Provider.
🟩 NDIS Registration Group 0120 – Household Tasks
Definition
This registration group supports participants who require assistance with domestic duties essential for daily living — including meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning — when their disability prevents them from undertaking these tasks independently.
Under the NDIS Operational Guidelines – Supports in the Plan (Household Tasks), supports may include the use of assistive products or modifications that reduce a participant’s reliance on direct care and improve independence (NDIS Operational Guidelines).
How SANAME® Applies
SANAME® Assistive Nutrition Products align directly within this registration group because they:
-
Simplify meal preparation – meals can be made by simply adding boiling water, requiring no chopping, blending, or stovetop use.
-
Reduce support dependency – enable participants to independently prepare nutritionally balanced meals even with limited mobility, dexterity, or fatigue.
-
Improve carer efficiency – reduce hours of weekly meal preparation required by support workers, freeing time for other higher-value care tasks.
-
Ensure consistent nutrition – provide reliable, high-quality protein and nutrient intake within managed care or dietitian-supervised meal plans.
Practical Integration Examples
-
Used as a standalone complete meal, simply rehydrated with boiling water.
-
Combined with vegetables or 100 g of lean meat/fish to create a 30 g protein functional meal.
-
Added to participant meal-prep programs or SIL menu plans to enhance protein and collagen intake and reduce care hours.
Why It’s Covered
Under 0120, SANAME® functions as an assistive nutrition solution that simplifies the household task of meal preparation and promotes independent living.
Funding may be appropriate where the participant’s disability directly affects their ability to prepare meals safely, and the product is demonstrated to be reasonable and necessary to support daily living activities (NDIS Reasonable and Necessary Supports).
🟩 NDIS Registration Group 0123 – Assistive Products for Household Tasks
Definition
This registration group includes tools, equipment, consumables, and adaptive products that make household tasks safer, easier, and more efficient — especially for participants with physical, sensory, or cognitive limitations.
Examples include assistive kitchen equipment, modified meal-prep tools, or consumable aids that reduce physical strain and improve food safety (NDIS Commission Registration Groups List).
How SANAME® Applies
SANAME® Assistive Nutrition Products meet this classification as assistive consumable nutritional aids, providing a safe and efficient method for participants and carers to prepare nutrient-dense meals:
-
Assistive consumable product: formulations act as functional nutrition bases requiring no cutting, mixing or heat exposure.
-
Promotes safety: eliminates risks associated with sharp tools, open flames, and extended food handling.
-
Supports participants with limitations: ideal for those with reduced fine motor skills, cognitive processing, or energy capacity.
-
Hygienic and stable: shelf-stable and portion-controlled to reduce food waste and maintain dietary hygiene standards.
Practical Integration Examples
-
Integrated into Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Short-Term Accommodation menu plans.
-
Provided as part of meal-prep kits for participants with limited access to safe kitchen facilities.
-
Recommended by support coordinators as a nutritionally reliable assistive base for daily meals and nutrition management.
Why It’s Covered
Under 0123, SANAME® qualifies as an assistive product for household tasks because it enables participants to prepare and consume safe, nutritionally adequate meals with minimal support.
It addresses disability-related barriers to meal preparation and aligns with the NDIS requirement that assistive products be “used to ameliorate the impact of a participant’s disability on their functional capacity” (NDIS Practice Standards – Verification Module).
🟩 NDIS Registration Group 0103 – Assistance Products for Personal Care and Safety
Definition
This registration group covers aids, devices, and consumables that support participants’ personal care, health, and safety, including items that help maintain adequate nutrition, hydration, mobility, and wellbeing.
Supports under 0103 aim to increase participant independence and reduce risk in daily living activities (NDIS Support Catalogue 2025-26).
How SANAME® Applies
SANAME® functional foods fit this category as assistive nutrition products that directly support personal care and safety goals:
-
Supports personal care through nutrition: Provides clinically relevant protein and collagen peptides that promote muscle repair, mobility, gut health, and immune strength.
-
Prevents malnutrition and fatigue: Easy-to-digest, bioavailable formulations maintain energy and strength for daily living tasks.
-
Ideal for chronic conditions or recovery: Appropriate for participants experiencing low appetite or heightened nutritional needs due to disability.
-
Enhances safety and cognition: Consistent nutrition supports energy stability, coordination and cognitive function, reducing risk of falls and accidents.
Practical Integration Examples
-
Used as a nutritional assistive product in personal care plans to support muscle maintenance and recovery.
-
Included in dietitian-recommended care plans as a daily functional food to support overall health and safety.
-
Provided to participants in Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) settings to ensure consistent, safe nutrition when supervision is limited.
Why It’s Covered
SANAME® supports personal care and safety outcomes by providing a nutrient-dense, ready-to-prepare functional meal solution that helps participants maintain strength, immune function, and independence.
This is consistent with NDIS funding criteria for supports that are “reasonable and necessary to assist participants to pursue their goals and enable social and economic participation.” (Section 34, NDIS Act 2013).
